Joint Replacement Center

Hip and knee replacements help patients relieve pain,
increase mobility and regain healthy, active lifestyles.
Holland Hospital's Center for Joint Replacement brings
together skilled orthopaedic surgeons, advanced technology and expert staff dedicated to restoring
not just your health, but your quality of life.
CUSTOM KNEE REPLACEMENT
We now offer custom total knee replacement. Using medical imaging and the latest surgical techniques, orthopedic surgeons can now
match the fit and placement of the knee implant to each patient’s unique anatomy.
Everyone’s knees are different due to variations in anatomy and factors such as age, gender, ethnicity and lifestyle. By accomodating these unique variations, surgeons can preserve more of the patient’s own bone and ligaments, which
allows for better implant fit and knee alignment.
Custom knee replacement personalizes the surgery to the individual patient and can provide a more “natural” feeling knee, greater range of motion and a quicker return to normal activities.

Patient-Centered Experience
The Center for Joint Replacement provides a comfortable, motivating and rewarding experience for every patient – before, during and after surgery. Our caring staff work closely with you to guide your physical therapy and speed recovery.

Patients are welcome to wear their own clothes and are
given a private room during their hospital stay. Hospital
stays are typically three to four days with most patients
up and beginning to move about the day after surgery.
Therapy, Coaching, EdUCATION & Support
During the hospital stay, patients engage in group
physical therapy receiving support, motivation and encouragement from other joint replacement patients.
Patients are assigned a coach, often a family member
or friend, who participates to provide support and
encouragement as well.
Education is a key part of the program from beginning to end. Prior to surgery, free seminars are offered to help patients determine if replacement is the right choice for them. Following surgery, classes are held along with therapy to ensure recovery is as fast and productive as possible. Patients learn techniques to promote recovery and what to
expect as they return to daily activities.
In addition, Holland Hospital periodically sponsors a Joint Center Reunion, bringing together our "graduates" who often remain close friends following their experience.
