Breastfeeding Support
Support for breastfeeding mothers is available through the Boven Birth Center's "Breastfeeding Support Team." This team is comprised of Internationally Certified Lactation Consultants who are available by phone seven days a week by dialing 394-3269. One-to-one consults and outpatient appointments are also available by calling this number.
Baby Beepers
Beepers can be rented up to two months prior to your due date. Use one to contact your support person when needed.
Better Babysitting
Kids ages nine to twelve learn basic child care principles, simple first aid and how to handle emergencies, as well as other tips for more confident babysitting.
Expectant Parent
This five-week course offers information about stages of labor and delivery, relaxation techniques, delivery room, nursery care and more. Includes presentations by an obstetrician and a pediatrician, a session on baby care basics and a tour of the Boven Birth Center. Evening, morning and weekend classes are available.
Expectant Parent Refresher
This two-session refresher of the Expectant Parent Class brings you up-to-date on the latest delivery, breathing and relaxation techniques.
Fit Future Moms
Keep fit during and after your pregnancy by participating in this low-impact fitness class designed especially for expectant and postpartum mothers. Exercises are specific to aiding the labor process and getting back into shape after delivery.
Getting Ready to Breastfeed
Learn what to expect in the first few weeks, how to manage breastfeeding and going back to work or school, and which products are helpful.
I'm a New Big Brother/Big Sister
Help your children, ages 3 to 9, adjust to the arrival of a new brother or sister. Class includes a tour of the Boven Birth Center.
Infant and Child CPR (Informational)
Learn how to help an infant or child who is choking or experiencing respiratory or cardiac arrest.
Infant Massage Classes
Explore the benefits and technique of massage for your baby, and experience the wonderful bond that develops through infant massage. This is a two-session class.
Pregnancy Massage
A class specially designed for expectant moms and their coach. Learn techniques that can provide comfort and relaxation during labor.
